Overview
The BoxCast JavaScript SDK provides partners and broadcasters the ability to integrate live and recorded audio and video on their own web sites. If you would like to embed the BoxCast video player somewhere, you’ve come to the right place!
You must have an active BoxCast account to use this SDK. Visit our web site to purchase a BoxCast subscription.

Key Concepts
Before you dive in, it’s important to clarify a few pieces of terminology:
- Broadcast: A broadcast represents a single audio/video stream with a name, description and start/stop times. A broadcast may have a live stream or recording associated with it or it may be a mere placeholder (i.e. if it is scheduled to start in the future).
- Channel: A channel represents a collection of broadcasts that are related in some way. It is a way for broadcasters to group and organize their content. Channels also provide an additional monetization option by allowing broadcasters to charge for collections of content.
- Highlight: A highlight is a time sliced segment within a broadcast. A broadcast may have multiple highlights. Each highlight can be embedded/played independently, or they can be displayed in a collection of highlights for an entire broadcast or even for a channel spanning multiple broadcasts.
